Evaluations

School-Aged

If your child is enrolled in a member school district, please follow the evaluation process of the individual school in which they are enrolled as the process may vary.

This is usually begun with the classroom teacher but the school office should be able to provide you with the information about their process.

If you are struggling with the process to request an evaluation or you feel that there has been a breakdown in the process, please feel free to reach out to our office at (701) 572-6757.

If your child is being homeschooled and you would like to request an evaluation, please contact the school district in which you reside.

Early Childhood (three-to-five)

If you have concerns or questions about your child who is at least three years old and has not begun school, please complete the form below and someone from WilMac will be in contact with you.

Any evaluations completed by WilMac are provided at no cost to families.

Under Age Three

If you have concerns or questions about your child who is under age three, please reach out to North Dakota Early Intervention Services.

"North Dakota Early Intervention Services can identify infants and young children (from birth until their third birthday) who have developmental delays when the right help can make all the difference.

Developmental assessments and evaluations are provided at no cost to families. If a child qualifies, a plan will be developed with parents to meet the unique needs of their child and family. Service plans may include ongoing home visits, consultations, and parent coaching."

Early Entrance Evaluation

North Dakota Century Code 15-01-06-01 states that children who meet the requirements and demonstrate academic, social and emotional readiness through a series of development and assessment instruments may be eligible for early entrance into a kindergarten or first grade program.

Please keep in mind that the purpose of early entrance testing is to identify children whose development and skills are significantly above average (95th percentile). While a child may score within the average range on readiness assessments, children that are assessed for early entrance must demonstrate skills higher than most of the students they would be in class with.

Effective September 1, 2025, WilMac no longer manages the early entrance evaluation process for our member districts. Please contact the district in which you reside to determine if they are providing early entrance evaluations.

Parent Guidance and Cook Center for Human Connections

ParentGuidance.org, a free 24/7 online platform, helps parents promote mental health wellness and self-care. The Cook Center for Human Connection designed these resources to strengthen relationships vital to school communities. ParentGuidance.org offers a trusted resource for parents with over 60

Mental Health Series

All families served in WilMac member school districts have access to the Mental Health Series. The Mental Health Series provides parents with unlimited access to on-demand recordings, live monthly sessions led by expert facilitators, and other topical resources. These offerings provide valuable mental health
support and guidance, addressing various parenting challenges and ensuring ongoing assistance whenever needed.
